Age of Empires III online using direct IP address from Mac to windows

Hi, I recently bought Age of Empires III (for Mac) and my friend also recently bought Age of Empires III, but for windows. We have been trying to play online by using each other's IP addresses, but it cant seem to work.

Any ideas or help?

Hi jberry,

I know you don't want to hear this, but AFAIK AOE III (and no other AO game) has the compatibility to play Multiplayer between Mac and Windows versions.
I don't know who is to blame for this.

That would be Microsoft, since Age of Empires is a Microsoft franchise.

Most definitely, although it could be 'Ensemble Studios' as the inventor of the series.
