Hope you can help me with not receiving music with pps files. I spent 2 hours with Microsoft to find out my mac is working fine with all music. After he went through every possible thing was mac he finally came up with it is not compatible to someone starting the pps file on a average window computer. I transfered my file to him and when it went to a mac... NO GO! Is there something that I can purchase that will make my new mac compatible to windows pps files. I than went back to the mac guy who has told me to go to a mac store with the file. Surely one of you wonderful people have experienced this problem. Can I download a product that will help me open my uncompatible music pps file. The folder itself presents all pictures, but no music... much appreciate anyones help on this. These files are ones that are going around on the email circuit. So beautiful, music would be a bonus..
Hi,
You are not the only one having problems to play music embedded in a Powerpoint PPS file on a Mac.
Could it be the format of the music used by the person who created the file on a Windows PC?
I went to the web site recommended to try. Not sure which one from flip4mac.com I had to download. The one that seemed right was wmv... but non of my pps music worked out for me. Slid are great. Maybe like the other guy said... windows format
NeoOffice is equivalent to Microsoft Office. It can open Excel files, Word files & PowerPoint files. You can also create these types of files that can be opened by PC users.
Is your Mac Intel, or PPC? If Intel, consider that MS Office is not Universal Binary, and thus would have been converted with Rosetta, but all functions might not work.
I have been away... But I tried download NeoOffice. No problems downloading and there was a patch that went with it too. anyway opening after the download it came up with this message.
This package can only be installed on a Power PC machine & cannot be installed on a Intel-based machine. So I guess I found out I must have a Intel-based machine.
While I am on the subject of pps files. another hitch today a new one. A pps file came and it came up with this... Some controls on this presentation cannot be activated because pp does not support ActiveX controls.. What is this??
