STP 1.1 Crashing!

So, everytime I try to browse the Ambiance clips, the system freezes and I have to restart the computer. Is there ANY way to fix this, or am I going to be forced to upgrade my whole setup to simply use Soundtrack Pro? Anyone else experience this problem??
