Nikon D200 and Black + White Photos imported into Aperture

I am using the internal settings in my D200 to shoot B+W. When I import the B+W photos into Aperture, they are in color. Any idea on what the issue is or how to fix?

Thanks,
Ed

This has come up several times on the forum.

When you shoot in RAW mode, most in-camera settings such as B&W, sharpening, picture styles etc. are not actually applied to the image. Instead, the camera manufacturer includes instructions in the file on how it should be converted. So far, so good.
Unfortunately these instructions are often stored in the manufacturer's notes rather than in an open form and are only read by the manufacturer's own software. So only Canon software will read the B&W setting from a Canon camera, only Nikon software will read the B&W settings from a Nikon camera etc.

I have the D200 body as well, however I am not happy with the print results of my pics taken from the B&W setting.
It is better, i find, to convert from RGB. This way you have total control over the tonal, hue and saturation adjustments.
Even with film, I shoot in color and then print in black and white.
