iPhone Stuck On Reboot Apple Logo Screen

No matter how many times I try to reset the phone by pressing the power button and home key, it just goes black for a few moments and then back to the Apple logo reboot screen - and it doesn't advance from there.

Any advice on how to fix this problem?

Try synching it to the computer and do a Restore.

I can't do a full restore because my Mac doesn't recognize the iPhone being connected via the USB cable.

Any other ideas?

Have you tried holding both the buttons down for 25 seconds? You should see a yellow exclamation point sign after that, then launch iTunes and do a Restore.
