Keeping smudges off the Iphone screen

The Power Support Crystal Film smudges just as easily as the bare screen in my experience. The screen or protector is going to be smooth and shiny and the oils and other gunk on your fingers are going to transfer no matter what.

haha interesting idea. probably works great for a table. i wouldnt suggest waxing your iphone though... if you have a case, stick the cleaning cloth behind the phone so its always there, just pull it out when it gets dirty.

After reading about wax and windshield wipers I went out to the car and carefully put on some RainX, that glass wax. It's a lot less prone to smudging..... Really, plus it wipes off easier.

Doubtful there is anything or will be anything available that will keep oil from your fingers off the iPhone screen completely. I don't notice it until the iPhone is asleep with a blank screen or when turned off. I wipe the screen every couple of days or so.

I would suggest putting less focus on cleaning the screen and more focus on cleaning your hands!

I have found that just wiping the phone against my pants after I use it keeps it pretty oil/smudge-free. I know that it may scratch the screen over time, but I have a screen protector on the phone, so i am not overly concerned. So, my point...wipe it frequently and it doesn't allow oil to build up as much...of course you end up with oily spots on your pants...

I got the Power Support Crystal Film ( http://www.powersupportusa.com/products/iphone_filmset.php). There is also a company called Best Skins Ever (www.bestskinsever.com). They have a product that not only protects the screen, but "molds" itself to the back and sides of the phone. My Apple Business Consultant has applied that product to his iPhone. It's not a shiny finish, rather it has small textured elements. At first, I didn't like it. However, when his phone is turned on, you can't see it at all.

So, if you are not worried about protecting anything other than the screen, go for the Power Support Crystal Film. They have it in stock at my local Apple stores.

I thought barbeerube was asking what I used just for general screen protection from scratches. Yes, it definitely smudges. But, I think any screen cover will do that. But, I've not actually tried any others, so I may be wrong. For simple screen protection from scratches, the Power Support Crystal Film is very good, in my opinion.

Very bad idea. Paper products are very abrasive, and have many sharp edges that will be more likely to generate the small scratches you are trying to avoid.

Best bet: Use a clean, soft, cotton cloth.

You mean you didn't have to sell your fingers to get one? I'm jealous. I suspect it's a fact of life we have to live with now unless someone makes a third party windshield wiper attachment. Good luck.

Dip your finger tips in rubbing alcohol daily. Your fingers will turn white, but the smudging is completely eliminated.

Has anyone tried Johnson wax?? I remember those commercials when they showed you can't put smudges on a waxed table.. wonder if that works.
