Unable to attach "images" - Device not configured?

Unable to attach "images" - Device not configured?

I'm having issues with mounting images. My PB attempts to mount, but ultimately says that it is "unable to attach the image - Device not configured"

I even attempted to mount from within disk utility. Also verified the image, which was found to be fine...

Any ideas?

Verified the image with what? Launch Disk Utility, select the image, and do a checksum on it. If it passes, then try remounting. If that fails, then repair permissions, move the com.apple.diskutility.plist and com.apple.diskimages.fsck files to the Desktop, log out and back in, and try mounting an image again.

I'm having the same problem as you, it says the device is not configured.

Does anyone know what could of caused this and how to solve it?

That didn't work

I had verified the image with disk utility earlier, so I went with the suggestion to move the files to the desktop. I logged out, and tried double clicking the image after logging in. I got a warning window saying the disk image failed to mount with the reason, "device not configured" again.

Also, after having the image mount error, Disk utility doesn't complete its startup. it just spins on "Gathering disk information". Have to force quit that.

I have also tried what you said but still no luck.
Is there anything else that you can suggest.
I've heard about creating a new user, will that work?

Will have to catch up on this later, is gone midnight here.

Boot with your install disk, select your language, and, when the menu bar pops up, select Utilities->Disk Utility and repair permissions and the disk (and all volumes if there's more than one).

Thanks, that worked. What should I do now with the .plist and .fsck files I moved to the desktop? Delete them?
