import OMF to Logic pro

my main question is does it work?? i got logic express and they won't open OMFs, i saw somewhere that they work with Logic Pro, but it seems people are having problems getting them to work.
is buying logic pro going to be a waste of money?

not quite, I'd say logic pro 7.2.3 is STILL not up to par when it comes to importing omf's.

although it improved much in version 7.2 or so, omf importing has been very dodgy since logic ported to OS X.
I frequently still have issues with some omf's (about 1 in every 4-5 I'd say) in LP 7.2.3, which import fine in pro tools, digital performer or logic pro on OS 9.

This can be a real ball breaker when on a tight time frame (which post-production jobs often are..)
I actually keep an old G4 around just for those cases, so I can import via OS 9.

This annoys the **** out of me to be honest, because Apple always kept on using omf capabilities as a major point of sale, even when it didn't work at all.

rimer - that's pretty smart thing to do. yeah OMF is a bit iffy with logic pro and has been better in the past - particualrly OS9.

you do far far better to export via AAF. its more reliable although i don't think it exports interleaved. anyway the only caveat is to ensure that none of your audio files start before the project start (or bar 1 in the case of logic) of the desitnation DAW. do that and you will be safe as houses.
