I cannot name my Hard drive

I cannot name my Hard drive

My hard drive icon formerly was named "Apple HD". Now I cannot type a name under the icon. There is a blue oval under the icon, and when I click on it, the blue oval disappears. Everything seems to be working ok otherwise, but I'm afraid this is a sign that really there is something wrong. I've run disk utility, checked for viruses, everything I know to do. Any suggestions?

Power Mac G5 Dual 2.5, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Have you tried repairing permissions & repair disk from your Tiger DVD?

Try clicking on the drive icon and then going to get info and under ownership and permissions - unlock the systems lock, then see if you can change the name.

I tried both of the suggestions that were given here and I don't know which one did it, but my HD is now back to being "Apple HD". Thank you both for the help.
