Mighty mouse, iMac and bluetooth

Ok, as a new to Mac the bundle I purchased had an iMac an wireless MightyMouse.

The mouse has been lethargic since day one. Reaching a point of "I'll see what can be done to improve" I purchased a Saitek 1600 dpi wired mouse to see if the iMac could handle it. It did (in a sense).

Ease of use is fantastic, scroll speed is nowhere near the maximum an makes a wireless MightyMouse pale into insignificance in the performance stakes. But! Not all features on the Saitek are supported especially right thumb additionl buttons that can be (in Windows) user assigned. There are three buttons really designed for back & forward in a browser plus a middle button.

The MightyMouse issue may be put down o my own inexperience but that same experience makes a Saitek blisteringly efficient by comparison.

Will OS X or OS X++ support Saitek range or 10600 dpi rodents?

Is there anyway I can encourage a wireless mightyMouse to reach at least some improvement in performance stakes? (It was previously maxed out on settings but still prefrred to trundle about a bit).

Wah! 20 USD? For a driver? This should be free (please contact Saitek direct and tell them that the 1600 dpi device is awesome on the Mac, makes Mighty Mouse a bit twee and encourage them to bundle USB-mouse with there devices). In the meantime I will email Saitek support and inform them that there are drivers that make the mouse workable on a Mac-intel.

There is one option for middle click that does not seem supported (Open link in new tab for Safari and the 'Fox).
