Time since last full charge

Under settings > Usage... there are two options listed for "Time since last full charge" which display a dash for each of the two options. The options are Usage and Standby. Under the display for the two options, there is a statement that reads; "Usage times will be shown after iPhone is fully charged". Will the values populate the two display options with real values and when do the values disappear and turn into "dashes"? I have not seen any values in this display for Usage and Standby.

All the other Usage options display real information; e.g. Call Time and EDGE Network Data.

I see several posts on this topic, but none that really answer the expectations of these values. Anyone experience something different?

With my iPhone, I have to get the "Glow" before my usage stats are reset. I never had the -- signs that I have read about, except the one time that I did a hard reset on my iPhone. It has not been enough for me to just get the plug icon (on the tiny battery in the top right corner) I have to get the last sliver of green filled in and get the glow.

BTW- I have gotten this repeatedly by putting my iPhone in airplane mode and then turning it off while charging overnight in the dock. Then, in the morning, plug the phone, still in dock, into your computer. Turn it on, but don't remove from dock, and after the phone syncs, I get a full charge and reset stats.

Then, the usage stat will reflect the time the phone is unlocked (so actually in use) and standby will reflect all time that the phone is asleep. (Many people have thought that standby meant how much time was left- it is just the opposite.)

Hope this helps.

It takes a while to get that last 10 per cent charge! Mine just reset at 8:50 CST, about 10 minutes ago, and I got home around 5 and put on the charger, so that's about 4 hours for a full charge, I had 14 hours and 30 minutes usage, subtracting 5 hours from yesterday is let me see.. 9 hours usage "on the street". Total would have been 35 hours - roughly 21 hours of standby and 14 hours usage, since 10:30 AM yesterday, it's just after 9 now?

In any event, don't take your phone in because it isn't charged or shows --'s instead of stats!!!!

Yep - it's gotta charge up and reach the "0 minutes" to start the clock, so to speak. See this from http://www.batteryuniversity.com (what else?!)

"Although lithium-ion is memory-free in terms of performance deterioration, batteries with fuel gauges exhibit what engineers refer to as "digital memory". Here is the reason: Short discharges with subsequent recharges do not provide the periodic calibration needed to synchronize the fuel gauge with the battery's state-of-charge. A deliberate full discharge and recharge every 30 charges corrects this problem. Letting the battery run down to the cut-off point in the equipment will do this. If ignored, the fuel gauge will become increasingly less accurate."

The Usage and Standby values have yet to populate with read data. It would seem that once the iPhone is fully charged, the values would be displayed.

After posting the original message, the iPhone has been fully charged. At least it is presumed to be fully charged after nine hours of charging. We all know the green glowing battery never really shows a full charge, but only 90ish percent. Has the Usage and Standby display been reported as plagued with bugs, not reliable or just not functional at this time?
