Billion 7300G is too slow

Hi
I have Billion 7300G wireless router. I have MAcBookPro. I am some annoying times with my internet connection. My internet carrier is Optus.
The speed drops considerably when I connect to router through wireless (AirPort). Some time it will struggle to connect to the Firewall Router Configuration page.
However, when I connect through Ethernet - the performance is much better. At times even the Ethernet connection drops out.
Can I get some help on this? I would appreciate if someone can direct me to any forum. I did search in the net but unfortunately, they are all over the place.
Cheers

Hi there,

A direct connection via ethernet will always result in a much faster connection. As for the wireless reception of the McBookPro, it's not known to be the best. The rubber strip at the top of the keyboard is the wireless receptor - add to this the fact that the aluminium casing blocks out most of the wireless signal and you end up with a pretty average wireless connection.

If you can get away with being plugged in via ethernet, then go for it. I myself have the same troubles, and usually go wireless when I'm just casually surfing, but when I need to download things I'll plug in the ethernet and do things that way.

Hope this clears up the issue for you =)

Cheers,

Ben
