Pro Application Support 4.0.1 - use with FCP 5, etc?

Apple has released "Pro Application Support 4.0.1" (see http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/proapplicationsupport401.html) What's not clear is whether this is only for users of Final Cut Studio 2, or do these updates work with/apply to previous generation applications like FCP 5, Motion 2, Soundtrack 1, etc. I can't find any more detailed read-me.

It seems to me that if you are asked if you want to install it when you run Software update, it's good to go with the software you have installed. Otherwise, it wouldn't be offered.
