High quality mp4 video battery usage

I just finished watching two high quality mp4 videos for a total of 2 hours and 10 minutes and the battery meter shows about 85% left. I used the headset and started watching the video after a full charge. The 15% battery usage seems a little high. This is only my second full charge of the iPhone. I have a 9-episode mini series of about 10 hours (5GB) sync'ed to my iPhone. I want to see if I can watch the whole mini series without getting the 20% low battery warning. Do you guys think it is possible? Let me do the math...

I noticed that its "anything" that keeps the screen lit up and active that drains the battery quickly. Nothing specific with movies or iPod features. Using it to listen to music only lights the screen a few seconds then it turns off so you get much longer life.

I was doing a lot of smsing, a good couple hours worth, and I could just watch my battery level drop slowly.

One day I was doing a LOT of emailing and saw my battery level dropping as I was doing it.

I was able to play the video for 6 hours and 30 minutes on my iPhone after the full charge yesterday. I stopped the video about five minutes after I receive the 10% low battery warning because I didn't want to run it to low. Here is the stat:

Usage: 7 hours 49 minuts
Standby: 21 hours
Video: 6 hours and 30 minutes (total time based on the six mp4 videos)

I didn't make or receive phone calls, check emails or surf the web. The ATT signal was at full with auto brightness on, but WIFI off, with occasional Yahoo push emails. I can comfortably say that Apple's claim of upto 7 hours of video is pretty close based on my own testing. Who knows how long I could keep the video going after the 10% low battery warning...

By the way, I notice something quite strange about the battery warning. After I got the 15% low battery warning, in less than 3 minutes I received the 10% low battery warning again. How could it drop 5% of battery in less than 3 minutes??? This was kinda odd.
