SONGS NOT SHOWING UP UNDER ARTISTS (YES I KNOW THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED)

Yes, I know this has been discussed many times but no one offers a reasonable solution.

The problem: for some reason SOME songs not in albums do not show up under the artist. For example, I have 6 Aerosmith songs, 1 of which has the name of the album. Now on ur ipod, not on itunes, only that one song with a tagged album will show up. For some reason, when you click the artist, instead of it giving you the option of clicking "All songs" and followed by choice of album, it is going DIRECTLY to the one album listed. The songs not listed under artist are there, if u browse by song, but not listed under artist.

Ok, here is the problem with every "fix" or "solution" given on this forum and all over the internet.

You say uncheck compilation. None of my songs are in a compilation or checked that, so lets forget that solution.

You say restore my ipod - did it, nothing changed.

Your simple solution: name the album on each song or erase the album info on each song.
THAT IS RIDICULOUS.
I do not know the name of the albums for half the songs on my ipod so why all of a sudden do I HAVE TO ID THE ALBUM NAME. This was never a problem before. Why can it not just say "ALL SONGS" when I click on an artist like it used to and then it will list all the songs whether they are in an album or not. Whatever update changed this really just added uneccessary frustration. Is there not a single option where I can change it back to the way it was?

Any help is appreciated. I do not want to sit and go through every song now and either search the album it comes from on the net or make up fake album names just to see the friggin songs under the artist. I do not have the time or patience for that.

If the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they may not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder.

I TOTALLY feel your pain! I've been having this problem for months with the most random songs. I even have them marked in an album. I can view the individual songs, I can view the album, but when I search for the artist they aren't there at all. ITs soooo annoying and NOTHING works to fix it.

If you EVER find a solution please help me put myself out of this annoying misery.
