Photoshop layered PSD file thumbnails

Several of the layered Photoshop PSD files (PS3) I have imported into Aperture generate thumbnails which only show one of the layers which exists in the file (usually the top one). The thumbnail in Finder is correct. I have tried "Generate Preview" in Aperture, but this does not help. Looking for help. Thanks.

I'm not sure if this will fix your problem but I was having the same thing happen and then realized it isn't the top layer it is the alpha channel. When I would make a selection and then save the selection (which creates an alpha channel) only that alpha channel would show back in Aperture.

The workaround for this is to add an empty alpha channel and make sure it is the highest one of the alpha layers .

So in Photoshop Window - Channels (or make sure it is already checked), create a new channel, fill it with white (like with the paint bucket) and move it to the top of the alpha channels but below the color channels (in my case RGB, Red, Green, Blue). Save and go back to Aperture.

Hope this helps.
