I have a dvd I'd like to keep on my computer for travel and commuting time killing but I can't seem to figure out a way to burn it directly. 'Little help?
MacBook,
Mac OS X (10.4.10),
Had it since March 07
Copy the video_ts and audio_ts folders from the dvd to a new folder in your Movies folder. Then, google a tiny program called DVDAssist. After following the instructions in DVDAssist you should be able to watch the movie through Front Row without the dvd in your drive.
Put the dvd into the mac book. If dvd player starts automatically, quit it. Then double click the dvd icon on your "desktop", and you should see the folders there.
5 years old and computer-literate, geeze they start 'em young these days!!
Sadly I think my 7 year old niece would probably know how to do it without asking... I tried to do this last night but as the files were transferring to my hard drive I got a few error messages saying some files couldn't be copied then it quit trying. I'm going to try with another disc in case it was that one, but should it go smoothly or should I expect some issues along the way?
If this is a commercial video DVD, try Flip4Mac's
Drive-In. It's the only US-legal way to copy a commercial video DVD (which are almost all copy-protected) to your computer.
