System Events in Login Items, what is it?

I just noticed I have something called "System Events" in my login items and I don't know what it is. Is it normal to have it there? I don't recall seeing it in there before.

Too many to list, Mac OS X (10.4.10), Intel

HI,

Do you by chance have any services turned on in System Preferences/Sharing/Services? Or, in System Preferences/Speech. If you have Any Speakable Items turned On, that's considered a "system event" ... and you can hide or delete it if you wish going to System Preferences/Accouns/Login Items.
