viewsonic vx2255wmb not working in dvi mode on mac mini g4

when connected to the mac mini the viewsonic monitor does not work in dvi mode. the monitor works in dvi mode with a windows machine and the mac works in dvi mode with a mac display, it also works in vga mode with the mini. i have tried to start it in safe mode and have reset the pmu and pram several times without positive effect. suggestion thanks

Hi, I've had the same problem with my Core Duo Mac Mini. It works great via the VGA port to my HDTV. But when I use a DVI to HDMI cable the computer display the Apple logo during boot up just fine, but after the OS is booted the image disappears. As if the display is not detected anymore. I read that it may be the MHZ, that it should be below 60 Mhz for it to work DVI-HDMI. I heard you can use DisplayConfigX or SwitchResX to make it work using VNC to connect remotely. Anyone has resolved this problem?

Go to Viewsonic tech support and open a ticket. They seem to be quite Mac-aware....

I've had a ticket open with them for over a week and the last email I received asked me what version on windows I use! Although there wait time on hold is relatively short. Allen
