SystemUIServer not responding

In my activity monitor window my SystemUI Server is listed as not responding. My clock wont show up in my menu bar, and my airport icon wont show up in my menu bar.

My system log reads as follows:

Aug 2 08:46:25 g5 /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Frameworks/ATS.framewo rk/Support/ATSServer: Error while processing font:

Well, the log has a pretty good suggestion:
Remove this font file or replace it with a new version.

referring, of course, to "/Users/Alastair/FontExplorer X/Font Library/A/AmeriGarmnd Rm:Bd BT/AmeriGarmnd Rm:Bd BT". Since this is in your Home folder, you won't have problems with permissions. As to replacing it, you'll need to find where you originally got it.

Hi Michael,

I already tried this, logged out, logged back and got the following result:

aped[546]: TabletDriver[552] is running as the super-user. It is not possible for Application Enhancer to affect this process in any manner whatsoever.
aped[546]: mcxd[550] is running as the super-user. It is not possible for Application Enhancer to affect this process in any manner whatsoever.

Do the following to resolve this issue:
Delete the following file: com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
This file is located here: yourHD > Users > youUserName > Library > Preferences

Restart your computer and the OS will rebuild that file, everything should work again. There may be the chance that you will have to add more items to your menu bar, but this should resolve the issue for the most part.

Hmm …

If you will go installing haxies …

I will have no truck with APE ("Application Enhancer" or rather "Application Destroyer") or Adium. I've just seen too many people with problems using these. So I can't help you get those working, other than to suggest you visit the vendor's site(s) and make sure (a) you have the latest version, and (b) that version is compatible with your version of OS X (which you don't show: put it in your Profile, it may have got deleted with the recent forum updates).
