My kids play with Webkinz. Safari doesn't work with the site well (takes a LOOONNGG time to load on dial-up, if ever), so I have been using Firefox. WebKinz recently "upgraded" their site, and now with Firefox, after logging in, the site opens in a pop-up window, but the content is cut off at the right and at the bottom of the screen. The window cannot easily be resized, but when it is, the content still cannot be viewed (it floats with the resizing). There was a suggestions from WebKinz to change the screen resolution, but that doesn't seem to be the problem.
My questions are (a) can Safari be tweaked to use the site and (2) can Firefox be forced to read the page so all the content is displayed?
IMHO, a dial up connection is going to be slow - regardless of what is running. Frankly, I am surprised that you could see a difference between Safari and Firefox (I find Firefox to be slower on my broadband connection).
It may be helpful to contact the Webkinz people - they may have some constructive suggestions (I am sorry I do not have one).
The WebKinz people are not helpful, They do not offer a way to contact them with technical problems or questions. My workaround is now to use Opera, which allows you to resize the screen. Somewhat of a pain, but it is working.
We are having a similar problem with this site. We have DSL and things were fine until they revamped the website a few weeks ago. Now, we can't get the site to load once we sign in using Safari (Fine with Windows computers). Some green background with flowers on the top appears - that's it. We followed all the suggestions on the site (latest edition of Flash Player, cleared cache, closed other programs, etc) but nothing works.
If anyone has a cure (other than using a windows computer...) My 8 yr. old would be eternally grateful.
