Bottom Row Touchscreen Issue

The touchscreen just stopped working--like in the last hour or so.

It is odd in that it only affects the bottom row. I can't "click" in the message send box for SMS, and I can't hit the space bar, return, or swap to number/punctuation in the keyboard screen.

I have reset, reset settings, and cleaned the screen.

Any ideas?

If you've done a reset and restore of the iphone, and the issue still persists, here is the number to Apple iPhone support.

1-888 -My iPhone
1-888-694-7466.

If you have not restored the iphone yet to try and resolve this issue, here is an article from the apple support website that will help.

Both. Problems with the iPhone can often be fixed by following the standard troubleshooting steps of first turning the phone all the way off and then back on, resetting if that doesn't work, and restoring if that doesn't work.

In addition, other users who have posted about the same or similar problems as you have reported the following:
1. A reset fixed it
2. A restore fixed it
3. Apple replaced my phone

Probably more than one problem can cause the symptom. Depending on where the problem is, that will determine which of the above will fix it.

In reference to your "send" button being two different shades of blue. It looks like that not only at the bottom of the screen, But when you tap it and your keyboard pops up, The "send" buttons is still two different shades of blue. So, Reguardless of where the "send" button is on your screen, It is always two different shades of blue.

I have this problem too. My bottom row is unresponsive. I upgraded to 1.0.2, did a clean sync (did not restore). Did multiple resets. No joy. Think I've go to return the product. Bummer - I'm traveling.

What's weird is that the touch sensor seems to have 'shifted up'. In NotePad when I run my finger along the Space Bar I get all the keys above being highlighted. Yes I made doubly sure my finger in on the Space Bar.

... but then in Safari I can select the Bookmark icon and the New Page icon which is also at the bottom where the Space Bar would be ... weird

... only the bottom row keyboard does not work, which is a big deal cause I can't type space and allMyNotesHaveToBeTypedLikeThisAndICantDoNumbersEither.

Noooo!...I now have this problem too - The bottom area of the touchscreen suddenly failed yesterday - doesnt matter what app I'm using. Also, items in scroll lists that work fine further up the screen are totally dead in the lower half inch or so. Tried a reset and restore - now I cant even browse since I cant enter the numbers in my WAP password!

I bought my iphone back in early August when I was still working in San Diego - have been using it as a ipod/PDA/browser since I returned to the UK (hoping I can get a local cell contract again when they're released over here in a week or two). Sure hope Apple can hook me up with warranty in the UK - HELLO?? ANYONE THERE AT APPLE HQ??
