System Doctor Pop Up

Getting this annoying popup for systemdoctor. What I read online is that it is mainly a PC issue and can't find removal instructions for mac. (Using Firefox) Is there a security risk? What actions should be taken?

Hello,

This is just an advert that is paying for one or more of your favourite websites. Open Firefox > Firefox menu > Preferences... > Content tab > check "Block Popup Windows".

More generally; there are no OS X viruses, and all executable software (i.e. that which could potentially cause harm) has to installed by you entering the OS X Password. This means that harmful websites can't do this in the background like they can on a Windows PC. Do check that your OS X Firewall is enabled as this will prevent prying eyes. ( Apple menu > System Preferences... > Sharing > Firewall tab).
