Syncing .WAV files?

Syncing .WAV files?

Curious. I have some songs that are .wav format. If I were to sync those songs with my iPhone, does it do a convertion or does it keep the original format when songs get imported into the iPhone?

I would prefer that they get converted to a much smaller format when songs go into my iPhone.

MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Yes, the iPhone supports WAV, but I am not sure if iTunes does the conversion automatically when transferring. iTunes can covert the files to MP3, so you may have to do that first, and then select the MP3 files to sync with the iPhone.

Salvador,

Songs that are in a .wav format will not need to be converted to be added to the iPhone. However, if you want to change the file format, you can follow the steps in this article to convert your .wav files to your preferred file format:
