Can not play AVI MJPEG videos

I used to be able to play the movie clips I shoot with my Casio Z600 point and shoot camera in Quicktime and in the Finder (in column mode), but now if i try to open one it crashes Quicktime.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
I can play them in DIVX player, but that is kinda lame.
