Can someone give me a clue as to why my SIS (just moved from a stand alone G5) which normally is accessible via web interface, is not accessible? I should be able to hit it from any browser but I just get the "file not found" message. I can reach the same machine via RD, launch the browser from the Xserve and access the SIS via port 8080 and all is well. I must be overlooking something very basic here. Any ideas s to what is going on? Thanks, J Langlois Xserve G5 2.3 dual, 3GB RAM 10.4.9

Sorry about that. The SIS is PowerSchool a student info system which delivers information via web browser interface. I think the problem lies in how it delivers and interacts with the OSX server services. Something is not quite right, but not obvious to me. Regards, J Langlois
Hi. RD = Remote Desktop. My problem lies in the configuration of the SIS setup. I had to resolve an internal issue with the ports and I did, but I now have excluded my acess to the Xserve using Remote Desktop. There are 2 firewalls involved one software on the Xserve and one is my Cisco Hardware firewall. I think the hardware issue is solved. I will have to play with the internal configuration if the SIS, which is not working well with Tiger's security. Thanks, J Langlois
Yes, strange for sure, but the reason for the software firewall (SIS tech support tells me...) is to drop the :8080 from my IP address. I'm hoping to take care of that in a different way. Must be a way to resolve it through the firewall or my router. I'm not a network specialist, I just play the role while I'm not teaching 😉
