Frontrow-"This computer is not authorized to play the selected song"
I could understand this error if the songs in question were purchased from the iTunes store, but the songs in question I ripped myself from CD's in MP3 format. I use a network and server to provide access to the music folder to my Mac Mini in my Home Theater, and this is where the error occurs. This just started happening recently, and I have no idea what changed.
Could it be because I upgrade the machine to OSX 10.4.10, but it was ripped in OSX 10.4.9? I know makes no sense, but just throwin that out there.
Agreed. It's just another one of those Front Row version 1 bugs! Hopefully it'll be fixed with the new version of Front Row coming in Leopard!
In my case it actually only happened once. I played the tracks in iTunes (not all the way through) and they then played fine in Front Row. Hasn't happened since.
Just found the solution to this problem. You need to convert the ID3 tags to V2.4
This is done by selecting all the songs in the libary, then going to the Advance menu/Convert ID3 Tags. Select V2.4 and OK. Then wait until it is done(can take a while.
