iMovie08 on a PPC Powerbook G4

so should I assume that iMovie08 does not work with my powerbook 17" which has a G1 1GHz processor?
or my other powerbook with a G4 1.42GHz processor?

G4 Powerbook 1GHz, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Here's what happens: The install program simply tells you it will NOT be loading iMovie 8 because you don't have a G5 or an Intel processor. I am quite disappointed by this. I have a dual-1.42 GHz G4, the most-powerful G4 PowerMac ever made. This machine flies, and is faster than many of the G5s according to multiple tests out there.

BUT... Apple is telling me, tough -- we want you to upgrade. But, unfortunately, they have totally BASTDARIZED the iMac -- that new machine, which I saw at the Apple Store yesterday, is UGLY -- completely UGLY.

I am holding out hope that iPhoto 08 turns out to be good. Gonna be messing with it tonight.

Basically , 8-7-07 will go down as the date when Apple "jumped the shark." Hopefully it's not all downhill from here...

.....Minimum Requirements to Install All Final Cut Studio Applications
A Macintosh computer with a 1.25GHz or faster PowerPC G4, PowerPC G5, Intel Core Duo, or Intel Xeon processor
1GB of RAM
An AGP or PCI Express Quartz Extreme graphics card (Final Cut Studio is not compatible with integrated Intel graphics processors)
A display with 1024-by-768 resolution or higher
Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later
QuickTime 7.1.6 or later
A DVD drive for installation.....

It seems as if final cut isn't as hungry for power as iMovie is.
If my G4 could hold some more ram i could smoke the Mac Mini for sure. Well before that Core 2 Duo update. Too bad i can't walk into a store and upgrade my video card at will, or my super drive. So much for the most advanced OS on the planet. By the way they dropped the Apple logo off of the keyboard. Does this mean merger with another company. Microsuck. Google. Samsung. Or maybe Leopard for any old PC. Just babbling. I suppose when the new iLife comes in the mail I'll just send it back even though i have two Insmell Macs, I'm not paying for something i can't use on my G4. Farewell iLife till i upgrade to Nehalem & a redesigned MacPro. Also farewell to my previously planned Leopard purchase, i'll get them all with one purchase of a Mac.
