Will it work with windows?

I have been looking for a slim keyboard to work with my Windows Vista laptop. Will the new wireless keyboard and mouse work with my Vista machine?

Windows Vista

I am sure the new wireless keyboard will work with your Windows machine. However, it won't have all the functionalities that it can have on a Mac. For example, the eject button may not work and the volume buttons may nor work either. But standard functions such as Function keys and the alpanumeric keys should work. Only the specialised functions may have problems.

As for the wireless Mighty Mouse, I think that works too but again you lose some of the special functions. I think, for instance, you can only scroll vertically and not horizontally.

I have tried pairing mine with windows, but on the configuration screen that is supposed to give the passcode I'm to enter into the keyboard before hitting enter, it's blank and therefore unable to pair. tried everything from rebooting to reinstalling BT software. Using a broadcom BT dongle on a brand new Core2Duo Dell Windows machine (at the office, use Mac at home). Currently using the new aluminum wired keyboard on the same machine and works like a charm (used the Bootcamp keyboard driver). any ideas?

i tried widcomm stack, no luck and went back to microsoft stack and use the no pass key to pair, it seem to pair OK and the hardware installed also pop up, however when clicking again at the bluetooth device i found that no device is connected....
and the only stack that work is bluesoleil but it only support csr chipset...

Hey, I just uninstalled all the windows bluetooth drivers and installed the dbt-120 according to the literature and voila, it worked. I am having an issue where it's like a key sticks repeating the letter ad infinitum until I power off/on the keyboard. I will get to the bottom of it eventually. Sort of a bummerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:(

Yes Sir it WILL work with windows. Definitely. I am not using a D-Link bluetooth dongle though coz i cant seemed to find it in retail stores where i am from. its some brand called Tiga. Anyway, a check on its properties reveal that its Broadcomm.

After i got it, i immediately tried it with my MBP. it succesfully set up in my winxp partition. So with renew-ed hope i went home to try it on my pc running on vista

Done my fair share of stupid things trying to make the keyboard make friends with my pc; like installing boot camp drivers on my pc. LOL!

So, how do you get this to work? Simple. I think the problem most pple face when pairing this keyboard to windows is that.. they don't have an idea if its ON or OFF. Make sure discovery is on, then on yr keyboard. Depress the power button for abt 3 seconds or till the green power light starts flashing, then release. Search and follow on screen instructions. i asked it to assigned a passkey to me, and i just typed it in using the keyboard and pressed enter. Voila, there you have it, bt wireless keyboard set up on Vista.

HI. Did you ever get the repeating key problem figured out? I have successfully paired my wireless keyboard with my Dell but am now getting the "stuck key" problem.

I read about a keyboard driver (BthKicker.sys) that is included with bootcamp and was wondering that would help if I installed that on my Dell.

Thanks.

Hello all. I have spent about 20 minutes searching and reading sites on how to get the Apple Wireless Keyboard to work with my XP laptop. As the earlier user says, it will not work. Many have objected against this statement.

I think the reason is because those who found it to work has a MAC on their system. This is a requirement, even if you boot on using Windows.

The scenario that I have (as with another user) is that my work computer is fully Windows (no Mac O/S). But I want to use the Apple wireless keyboard so that the screen is farther away. I cannot find literature to enable this.

So far, it is pure and simple: minimum Apple Wireless Keyboard System requirement is a Mac O/S. I would love to be proven wrong so I can use this slick keyboard instead of the clunky one from Dell.

Will it work with windows?
