iDVD '08 won't install

iDVD '08 won't install

I've installed the rest of iLife (using the customize option in the installer), but whenever I am installing iDVD, it gets to 57% in the Installing iDVD Themes section, then stops and says:
"There were errors installing the software.

Please try installing again."

So far I have tried restarting my computer, and making sure that all the package contents for iDVD 6 (which was previously installed) were set to read and write.

Can anyone help?

2.5 GB - do you think this might be the problem? I know that 2.5 GB isn't a whole lot, but I thought it would be more than enough for some iDVD themes...

This can't be it - I've now got 10GB free, for iDVD, same problem. The whole size of the DVD isn't even 4GB.

Maybe not at 10GB, but we advise 20GB+ free for encoding with iDVD and that has been proven over and over. This is why I have a Terabyte of hard drives for this stuff.

Most software needs more space to install than the software package size.

DVD drive for installation
QuickTime 7.2 or later

I'm not sure you're getting it, man. Read my first post - iDVD won't even install, let alone encode, and I have all the right sys req.

Mac OS-X requires something like 10% to 15% of your hard drive (or about 15 GB if you have a VERY large hard drive) be kept free for operating system use. If you continue to run your computer with less free space, you run the real risk of file structure damage.
