My Mistake - check mark in green circle?

I've been learning with a training video and I've made a mistake and now have a green circle with a check mark inside of it on my Canvas. (Using FCP 6)
I looks like this:

I don't know how to turn it off and it causes clips to be inserted into the wrong place. How do I turn it off?

MacPro 3.0 Quad, Mac OS X (10.4.10), Final Cut Pro 6

That is an overlay which checks for excess luma levels.

At the top of your canvas, click the overlays menu button (looks like a square), and deselect "Show Excess Luma".

See the canvas?
Ok see the three buttons on the top frame of the canvas, right in the centre?
Click on the first from right keeping it pressed. A menu pulls down.
Uncheck SHOW ECCESS LUMA.

Voila!!!

Control + z is the keyboard shortcut for toggling this overlay.

Or use the menu:

view > range check > off

Thank you. . .now that you mention it, "Control Z" was probably one of the short cuts that I hit by accident. My notes show "Shift Z" for zoom. . .so I bet that Control Z is what I hit.
