Itunes cannot read Ipod

I plug in my ipod nano and the itunes prompts me with a message cannot read content from ipod. When I try to restore and update, I get an error ~48? PLZ help

Ipod nano, Windows XP Pro

Have you had a chance to look at this troubleshooting page? It may be of some help: "Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod

didnt help i downloaded all the updates removed unecessary .dll files tried it all but still it wont read or restore.

itunes can't read my ipod ,but when I restored and updated it,I saw the line:"ipod can't be restored because the firmware file was corrupted." I don't know what 's problem with it...help me please.thanks much
