No longer able to drag and drop multiple photos

My partner has an iBook running iPhoto 6. She's quite fluent in organising photos and generally using the iPhoto interface, however it seems that for some reason her iPhoto no longer allows her to drag and drop multiple photos.

She can select multiple photos but she's unable to drag them at all. One photo works fine but multiples just don't work anymore.

Anyone have any ideas?

iBook, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

This could be an example of the Helvetica Font Bug.

Use Font Book (in your applications folder) to make sure that the Helvetica Font is enabled - turn it off and back on again if necessary. The re-start iPhoto see if that helps.

Can you explain in more detail where and how this manifests itself? In the library? In albums, Smart Albums? Rolls?

Dragging from where to where?

Try deleting the iPHoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, from your User/Library/Preferences folder.

I've deleted the preferences file but the problem still persists.

It's odd, because regardless of the view (ie the entire library, smart albums, etc) you can select multiple thumbnails but iPhoto won't let you drag them. In other words, you don't get the ghost thumbnails following the cursor as you click and drag. Also you don't get the plus symbol with the number of images being copied. However it works fine when you click and drag on a single image.

So you can copy/move images between albums or the desktop but only one at a time. Very annoying!
