iDVD 08 Font Problem

Hi Guys,

I use iDVD an awful lot for my business, I have just upgraded to '08 and it took a bit of getting used to but its OK now (the whole "command and click" to alter a drop zone picture is a tad odd...)

I have encountered a problem and I wondered if anyone had any help to offer.

I am currently using the theme "Reflection White" which was part of the last iDVD. When I try and copy/paste the text on the menu that says "Reflection Main" it doesn't paste it in the same style - (at an angle, with the rest of the menu).

Does anyone know how to sort this issue out, it seems like a huge step backward to remove this feature so I am hoping it is just me not knowing how to do something correctly in '08.

If this isn't making sense I will happily post a screen grab etc. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, although this didnt help the issue.

I have some screen grabs to explain my question -

Here is a shot of a project I made using iDVD with the last version of iLife: When I open this project using '08 the text appears as it always did - see below:

However, what I now want to do as I did with the one above, yet with a new project, is have two lines of text ("The Wedding of" and "Belinda & Ryan") but when I copy and paste the first line of text it pastes it as forward facing text, and not part of the theme (see pic - I have used the same project as an example):

If you see the above text "Belinda & Ryan" does not appear at the same angle as the other text, in previous versions of iDVD it was always a case of just copying and pasting.

I hope this all makes sense, sorry if I'm blabbering!

I will try and explain the situation again as I realise my OP wasnt the most descriptive.

Basically when I now open the Reflections White theme in iDVD 08, the text that says "Reflection White" appears at an angle as it always does. However when I try and add more text (either by copying and pasting or by using "add text") it is not at the same angle as the other text, instead it appears straight on and it obviously looks out of place. See pictures in my other post above for a visual.

I really hope there is a way around this somehow, as it seems a very wierd "glitch" that I can't seem to overcome. If you guys need any more info please let me know!

OK - when you type in the title block you get slanted text. If you want to add additional text somewhere on the menu screen using 'add text' is is straight.

I would suggest using a different text font in the 'add text' box so that it doesn't match the slanted text and look out of place.

But I still don't understand why you can't simply type 'The Wedding of <cr> Belinda & Ryan' in the title block. This will produce your desired title using two lines. (Where <cr> is the return key.)

Thanks for the reply. However when I just write two lines of text within one text box, they are really far apart, and you can (obviously) not move the text nearer, as you can do with two separate pieces of text.

I just dont get how in the last version this worked fine but now something so simple seems really complicated.

Basically, as an overview: when i add new text to the reflections menus, it is not stylised to the theme.
