No Supported Disc Burners Found?

I've been using itunes on my laptop for ages and since i've installed the latest version, I get the following message:

CD Burner: No Supported Disc Burners Found

I've removed itunes and installed an older version but still get the same message......... it seems strange as i've been using it for about a year without any problems up till now............

can anyone help!

I can use my Roxio Media Creator 9 OK?

Force Optical Power Calibration before burn is turned on in the preferences.

The last failed audio CD burn had error code 4261(0x000010a5). It happened on drive D: HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GCA-4040N on CDR media at speed 16X.

Mine is doing the same thing. Have been using this for years. Last several months I updated and now it doesn't work. I won't be buying anymore music on iTunes until this gets fixed. Here is my info:

I am having the same problem and have been for months now...IT IS DRIVING ME INSANE! Ever since I got the newest version of iTunes I have been getting the "Disc burner or software not found..." error. I have tried looking at post of the forums for answers, calling apple, e-mailing apple, etc and still have not found an answer...I hope that someone can help me because apple sure doesn't seem to want to...here is my info...

I had the same problem with my 64 bit Vista machine. Apple use third party software for CD burning, to solve the problem I downloaded 64 bit drivers from www.gearsoft.com. Apparently Apple do not install the 64 bit drivers with iTunes. It may be worth visiting the gearsoft site and download the applicable drivers for your machine. They also give instructions on how to remove old drivers from the registry. So I would remove the old drivers and try the ones from gearsoft.
