iPod got wet - does not reset - any point trying to repair it?
My son fell in the lake recently (!!) and by the time I fished him out - 45 seconds maybe - the Nano (in his pocket) was soaked. After we got back to town, I let it dry. I charged it and tried all (most, anyway?) of the suggestions I could find including the 5R's. It just won't reset and I can't turn it off so the battery just dies again. Recharge - same thing. I think the middle button is broken. Are these things "repairable" at a reasonable cost or do you simply have to buy a new or refurbished nano? Thanks.
That's the same problem I have... accept I don't know how mine got wet. It just started leaking water and now the Fast Forward button acts like the middle Enter button!!! I won't reset and the play button doesn't work so the only way it can be shut off would be to go back to the main menu and press Sleep. I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only one in Canada that has this problem.
Put your iPod in a warm place (an airing cupboard for instance) and let it dry out naturally for about a week. Do not connect it to your computer or any other power source during that time. After that charge it up and you may, I stress may be fortunate enough to get it working again.
its best not to hijack another persons post for advice on your own separate problem. PLease post your own issues and questions in a separate post.So you can get the correct answers and allow this original poster to have his own space to has his questions answered.
As well accidental damage by getting the ipod wet accidently is not covered in the limited warranty. THe possibility of the nano working properly after allowing it to dry for a few weeks is a big question mark.
