Have I possibly blown my iPhone speaker?

I was in the tub at a hotel a few days ago with my iPhone in its dock across the room providing some music through its little built-in speaker. Not a terribly hi-fi setup, mind you, but it gets the job done when away from the home stereo. I had some Cake playing and was enjoying my bath when suddenly the song became rather distorted. A quick reset of the phone seemed to kind of fix it, but I still get some weird rattling on bassy tones.

I'll soon get the chance to directly compare with another iPhone to see if I'm making this up in my head and this is just how it has always been, but I think I blew the speaker! Yes, I had it playing on max volume, but I didn't think Apple would build into the iPhone a maximum volume that could blow its speaker.

So...has anyone else experienced a blown iPhone speaker? This is technically possible, correct? And if it is in fact blown, will Apple fix it under warranty?

Thanks!

I've had something similar happen to me at work today. I was playing songs in shuffle mode, then when the 3 or 4th song came on, it became REALLY distorted, like a speaker blew out. I restarted the phone and it seemed to work fine, but after I set the eq to small speakers. I wonder if it is a software glitch or my iPhone speaker is broken.
