I have not used the Multi Pro on my Mac Pro but I have used the DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 and it works fine. Following is the readme file from the DiMAGE software. I don't know if it will help any. Let me know if it does.

Scan Setting Values
Due to precision errors, slight changes to resolution, magnification, and size may occur.
Image Size
Image size displayed in the scan setting dialog box is calculated from the total number of pixels in the scanned image. The actual file size will vary depending on the file format in which the image is saved.
* Scanning
Image Correction and Exposure Control
When significant changes have been made with the image correction or exposure control tab, the resulting scanned image may differ slightly from the preview image. Scan time may increase with the use of image correction or exposure control.
Depending on the image, the auto-setting function in the image-correction palettes may not seem to have any affect. The numeric values entered into a text box in an image-correction palette is set when another text box, button, or slider is clicked.
Scanning Negative Film
When using 35mm or medium-format films, the film must completely cover the holder or mask aperture to ensure correct exposure. Misaligned film may affect the color balance of the scanned image.
Digital GEM
On the Digital GEM tab, the Digital GEM sample area can not exceed 1024x1024 pixels based on the set scan resolution.
Monitor Gamma
If the DiMAGE Scan Utility's color matching function is not active when the utility is launched through another application, set the monitor gamma to 1.8 in the host application.
When Launching the DiMAGE Scan Utility through Photoshop 6, Photoshop 7, Photoshop Elements and Photoshop Elements 2.0
If a scan is made without a holder in the scanner or the holder does not match the selected film format in the DiMAGE Scan Utility, an alert message is displayed. When the OK button is clicked, the DiMAGE Scan Utility is closed.
The Computer is Shut Down Forcibly or Incorrectly
If the computer is shut down forcibly or incorrectly while scanning, the operation file [14
