The application QuickTime Player quit unexpectedly

Question

The application QuickTime Player quit unexpectedly

Just try to open every .avi on my iMac: QuickTime opens and immediately crashes.

This is probably also the cause why iMovie '08 was crashing.

What to do about this...

iMac intel, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

In Library/QuickTime I found: AviImporter-r7 (Intel).component

Just removed it and it worked again.
