Ipod froze while in use in ihome alarm clock/radio

While using 30g ipod in ihome alarm clock this am ipod froze in "pause" position- screen frozen and wheel frozen. I tried sliding the hold button and also holding the menu button down for 6 seconds. Didn't work. I docked it to my computer, itunes opened and gave me a message that something was corrupted and audio/visual may not work properly. Nothing happened on ipod. I plugged it into a wall charger and that didn't work. After letting it sit for about 30 minutes the screen blacked out, but when I pressed the center button it lit up but was still frozen, click wheel not responsive. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you attempted to do a Reset -- which is what I would recommend -- but you were missing one of the buttons. You need to hold down the Center and Menu buttons together for a Reset. And sometimes it takes several attempts. I would try it again.

P.S. And if that doesn't fix it, I would do a Restore. Directions at this link:

Hi... thanks for the information on how to reset the iPod. Question though, do you know why the iPod freezes up in the iHome? I'm having this exact same problem but it's happening pretty much every day. The alarm will turn on with the iPod, then it will just freeze up. No way to do anything with it.

Is this something to do with the iHome? It never happened before using the iPod with the iHome.

Anything we can do?

Thanks.
