Battery charge indicator

My new MacBook displays only 99% of the charge even after an overnight charge. It seems as if the battery tops out at 99%. What happens to the 1%? Is this an isolated glitch or a more wide-spread problem? Thanks for your feedback.

Macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Have you calibrated your battery? You should calibrate at least once a month.

Hi, to whoever reads this, PLEASE please help me.

My charger is not working properly. It does not charge up to 100% like it should. It stays on 99%, on the amber light, and when I unplug it it says on the percentage box that it is 100%, but when I put it back in, it says 99% again.

I have read on an Apple support page, it is normal for chargers not to completley charge, but it is meant to go green, and it used to.
I also read another support page, and apparentley my battery can explode. What shall I do? And, is there a problem?

I have the same problem! My charger does not go green and it only charges up to 99%
