Why won't my playlist play songs in the right order ??

I have set up a number of different playlists on my Ipod Mini. I have put songs in a particular order in the playlists but when I play the ipod through my Bose speakers it does not seem to play the songs in order. Can anyone help ?

If your iPod set to shuffle? Go to the main menu of the iPod, settings, and check if shuffle is "ON". If so, then it will shuffle when playing your playlists and a little shuffle symbol (crossed arrows) should appear on the iPod screen in the corner when playing music.

I have tried everything, and nothing solves this problem. It all seems to have started after the new iTunes update. The "Songs" list have been put in a different order, and it skipps over several songs that have "A" as the first word in the title. Even when I go to the second word in the title, it still will not play. They all play fine on the computer. When will iTunes fix this problem? I have one of the first iPod minis, and don't want to have to buy another one. What is being done to solve this major problem? I am so angry !!!
Thanks
