Using adapter kit in Sweden?

Hi,

Why doesn't Apple have a more complete list of countries in its "World Travel Adapter Kit"? I couldn't even find such a list on this web site. I will be in Sweden later this month. Does anyone know if I will have the right adapter for my iBook G4?

Thanks!

Hi rebeckap and welcome to Apple Discussions.

The Apple World Travel adapter kit almost certainly has the required adapter for Sweden. If you refer to This Article it gives specifications for a type of plug used widely in Europe with the exception of the UK and the Republic of Ireland. An alternative, with grounding bars, is shown if you scroll down the same page to item 'F'. This too, apparently, is in common use throughout Europe.

Unless you are planning to travel outside Europe the Apple WTAK maybe OTT for your needs. Any converter which converts US to Europe will do the job perfectly well, though, admittedly, not so tidily as the Apple adapter which will fit directly to your power brick. A generic adapter should be available in hardware stores, electrical suppliers, etc. If you go for this option don't forget to take your US power brick connector with you. You will need it to connect with the Europe adapter.

Enjoy your trip,

Adrian

I'm sorry, I read the article and it still remains unanswered in my mind.

I have an iBook G4. Can I just use an adapter to plug my laptop with a US plug into the wall in France?

I have been using a transformer but someone just told me a transformer was not necessary because the power brick is a transformer.

Transformer or adapter, that is my question?

I am running out of transformers and want to know what I can use on just an adapter.
