Cannot load Shockwave Flash plug-in

All of a sudden every time I load ANY page it says the plugin is missing. So, I downloaded the Flash plugin again to re-install, and get the following error message:

"The application 'Install Flash Player 9 OSX' could not be launched because of the shared library error: '+<BaseInstaller><BaseInstaller><CarbonLib>' "

I ran Disk Utility to repair permission, but this did not help.

any ideas?
