Walk us through what you've tried already. Err on the side of too much detail rather than too little.

well, itunes wont open, says that its not an installed program. when i try to re-install itunes, it says that quicktime didnt install properly and that itunes needs qt to run. and if i try to install qt seperatly it says that the msi file is missing. i think this all started after i updated itunes.
    thanx.

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. Use it to clear any existing iTunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC. (Launch Windows Installer CleanUp, find any iTunes and/or QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those entries, and click “remove”.)

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

Next, use the the following document as a guide for manual removal of leftover iTunes and QuickTime program files:

Removing iTunes and QuickTime for Windows

Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?

OMG what a drama. i finally deleted most of the old itunes files, but there were a few that i could'nt. it was saying that they were on a "network rescource that is unavailable".
now it seems to be running ok, but i have no sound from my speakers, but that's another issue. thanx so much for your help and patience. im good with hardware, but software beats me every time. i owe you a beer !!!!!
