Skip to next song with iTunes in Background

I run iTunes on a PC.

How do I skip to the next song with iTunes running in the background?

For example, I'm listening to a song playing on iTunes whilst typing in this window, and I want to skip to the next song. I would like to be able to press some keys on the keyboard to skip. I don't want to have to switch to the iTunes window and press CTRL + ->. I just want to stay in my current active window and be able to skip to the next song.

Any help...mucho appriciado. I would like this function on my Mac, too.

Imac G5, Mac OS X (10.4.5), PC with XP as my other computer

You can't do that with iTunes. Believe me, I like that functionality, and I've tried. The closest thing is to have the mini player on top so you can click on the next track button with your mouse pointer.

There is a music player I like to use, however, that you CAN do it with. No pressure to use it though. It's called XMPlay and available free at un4seen.com. Reply again if you need me to walk you through that.
