Adobie Acrobat

I have installed the Acrobat Reader on my iMac.

When I click on PDF files I get error code 10660.

If I start up adobe first, the PDF opens fine.

seems like the computer is not linking the file to the program that needs to be used.

I am new to mac.

Is there a way to uninstall adobe? I have been a PC guy my whole like and I don't see a "uninstal" option.
