Using garage band with Digi 002

My problem is that when I use my Digi 002 with garage band, the input lights up all the way to red on every input and just makes a lot of lot hiss and static. I've reinstalled the coreaudio driver and pro tools and everything but no luck. I can use protools fine and I can use other apps through the digi 002 through the audio driver, but garageband does not work. I am on a new intel MBP. Does anybody have any suggestions?

wow, thanks, sorry i took so long to reply I just found out you posted. I tried that update, it looks like what I need but when I try to install the installer claims that I dont meet the requirements? Thanks!

I'm having the same problem- Pro Tools OK, but now Garageband hates the 002R. I haven't used Garageband in a long while, so I'm not sure where along the way it went south- White noise. They both used to play well with each other.

Also, I'm getting weird behavior when using Quicktime Player or movies in Safari thru the 002- I have to go to the Audio/MIDI Setup, select built-in playback, then re-select 002, and then it works.

I tried that update too, and the installer claims that I dont meet the requirements, no doubt because I'm using 10.4.11.

Try downloading and installing the 10.4.11 combo update. Many times a point
update misses something.

I do always use the combo updates, and in fact tried re-installing 10.4.11 previously with no difference.

I did finally get the fix:

Pro Tools LE 7.1.1cs2 update.

That did the trick. GarageBand & the 002R work great now. The cs2 update addresses several bugs, including the use of the 002R with third party software programs:

Note that this problem only occurs with Intel-based Macs.

I still am among the many people who have to toggle the Default Output back & forth in the Audio MIDI Setup, when using Safari & Quicktime Player. This all started after Quicktime 7.2
