iTunes Music Store.

Unfortunately, there are many Audiobooks out there that are not coded per Apple's specs because (I suspect) that it's easier to code them as music. I've got the same situation with a personal (family) Audiobook that I created. After four months of effort, I finally gave up.

It's not all that much of a problem except to go to Get Info (Options) and check "Skip when shuffling."

I was there before (probably got the info from you). Everything looked great until I tried to listen from the iPod. Play for two seconds and quit.

FWIW, my recordings began life as cartridge tape thirty years ago and I then created 4 audio CDs and one mp3 CD. (They're discussions with my grandmother who, at that time, was already pushing a hundred years old.) There probably is a solution but, as I told the OP, it's not a major concern.

Why, why, why can't Apple simply let any type of file be placed in Audiobooks?
Sure would be simpler than all the hassles so many of us have.

PLEASE... if anyone is listening. Just fix this. Thanks.

How, BTW, does anyone get a suggestion to the right folks? No easy way to do that it seems.

Also, I can't find where in Hades one starts a new thread. The help instruction says click on the new post line at the top of the page, but I can't find any such link anywhere.

I am having the same issues with my audiobooks. I have finally managed to get them into the audiobook section of my ipod by following aldo's instructions to the letter, but still they will not appear on the main menu - It continues to say I have no songs(?)....which is very true - I have several books in there that I would like it to list! . It's frustrating and not what I expected from an expensive but otherwise seemingly flawless piece of technology. I bought the ipod with the soul intention of putting all my (paid for) audiobooks that were not sourced from "itunes" or "audiobooks" only to find that it involves a process akin to giving birth to get them to appear as they should! arrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhh!!! Please help!!
