iPhone doesn't ring

What about the rest or your sounds and tones...when you select another ringtone, do you hear it? Does the iPod play? Need more info on your situation.

Couple of troubleshooting ideas that others have suggested in the various threads of this forum:

1. Check the silent ring switch on the upper left side of the iPhone. Flick it on and off a few times and then leave it in the up position in relation to the screen.

2. Take your apple buds and rapidly plug/unplug them multiple times...sometimes the iPhone thinks you still have them plugged in and you kind of have to reset the port.

3. Do a soft reset by holding down the sleep and home button together...hold until the apple logo reappears.

4. Last thing to do is a restore using iTunes...insure that you sync first. Save any pictures in your camera roll to the computer as they do not back up and notes also will not back up. Everything else will back up except you will have to re-enter your passwords and reconnect to your wifi.

this is why apple needs to put an indicator on the display that says the phone is on silent. I always forget that I have to look at the switch on the side. Maybe its just something we need to get used to, but all previous mobile devices have had some sort of visual indication on the display alerting the user that silent mode has been engaged.

I'll suggest this apple, incase it hasn't yet already been done.

I had the similar issue,iphone does not ring even though the setting is set to ring.did everything reset to factory settings,removed the password lock.stopped the call incoming call forwarding..did not worked.
solution was simple on iphone left hand top corner there is a toggle button which controls your settings for slient or ring.at least it worked for me
